Tang’ma(Tenma) means “We are all unique” in the Bassar language from the northern part of Togo, West Africa. I believe we are all unique indeed. And no one should be robbed of the chance to bring his or her unique contribution to this world.
For as long as I can remember, I've been captivated by the intricate beauty of handmade jewelry and fabrics. My late grandmother’s beaded jewelry pieces are still well kept in our home. Each piece tells a story, woven with passion and creativity—a narrative often lost in mass production. When I traveled to remote villages, I was deeply moved by the breathtaking talent of women artisans who crafted stunning designs but struggled to make ends meet. Their hands were skilled but their wallets empty; the weight of financial uncertainty loomed over them like a shadow. It became clear to me that these incredible artists had so much potential waiting to be unleashed, yet they lacked opportunities for stable income. That’s when we decided that something had to change—we envisioned a platform where their artistry could shine brightly while providing them with meaningful employment.
We believe that every woman deserves the chance to thrive and support her family through her craft. Our mission is more than just creating beautiful jewelry; it's about empowering underprivileged women artisans, offering them not only jobs but also growth and stability in their lives.
